The M. Turetsky Choir and SOPRANO, famous Russian vocal bands, will perform at central squares in 12 countries all over the world
From Paris to New York, Berlin to Toronto, Moscow to Beijing, vibrant, touching, unifying songs will sound, channeling the memory and history of five generations.
UNITY SONGS is a marathon of history that keeps bringing the world closer. This year, a unique musical event will take place in 12 countries over two continents. This spring, UNITY SONGS will debut in Rome, Washington DC, Toronto, Warsaw, Budapest, Prague, Beijing, Qingdao and then move on to Berlin, Vienna, Paris, New York, Moscow, and Minsk. Written during World War II, these songs help us not to lose sight of what is truly important: love, honor, friendship, loyalty, and peace. Peace, a thing bigger than time constraints, and petty quarrels.
‘‘The Unity Songs project goes beyond mere verse put to music. It is our history, our memory. These are the songs that bridge generations and connect people all over the world. In Russian, the word 'mir' means both 'world' and 'peace', and by saying it here I mean both. These are the songs of mir, something bigger than any worldly disagreements,’’ noted Mikhail Turetsky, People's Artist of Russia and the mastermind behind the project.
